While the vibrant plumage and charismatic nature of parrots can be incredibly alluring, it's essential to understand that welcoming a parrot into your life comes with a profound and lifelong responsibility. Parrots are not just pets; they are wild, intelligent, long-lived companions that require dedicated care, patience, and commitment.
On their best day, they are beautiful, comical, endearing, and entertaining, but on their worst days, they can pluck their feathers, bite you in the face, scream for hours on end, poop on your walls from across the room, and chew up your floorboards. That's not an exaggeration, in fact, it's probably an understatement. A baby bird may be easier to handle in the beginning, but they eventually grow up and become adults and also bite, scream and destroy your things on their bad days.
Our adoption application process helps us and you figure out whether a parrot and specifically which parrot, is the right fit for you (and your family).
Adoption Approval Process

*** PLEASE NOTE: After completing an adoption application, you'll need to complete a parrot care class to continue the adoption process. Link to booking the class is in the application. We will only contact you AFTER both the application and class are completed. Any questions you have about adoptions not answered on this page will be answed after you've completed the class. See Adoption FAQs below. We will contact you to schedule an interview WITHIN 30 DAYS after the class is completed.
