For many years, Sharon has dreamed of building indoor-outdoor aviaries to provide protection during extreme weather - especially unexpected cold fronts and heat waves! That dream is becoming a reality!

We are building a 1,960 sq ft indoor/outdoor aviary facility designed to give our birds:

  • Consistent, protected indoor shelter during extreme weather

  • Safe outdoor access when conditions are ideal

  • Larger aviaries for more comfort, enrichment, and exercise

​

The sanctuary grounds cover 1.3 acres with 59 aviaries and 2 buildings. This new facility will add 20 new aviaries. To begin this project, the Amazon and Quaker aviaries were demolished - they were very old and difficult to maintain and keep clean. This new facility will:

  • Streamline feeding, cleaning, and daily routines

  • Eliminate countless hours of emergency winter prep

  • Reduce the need to move birds out of the comfort of their enclosures

This isn’t just a building - it’s peace of mind, stability, safety, and overall a better future for every bird in our care.
